And It Comes to an End (Pro Blog Post #8)

I would say that being able to do this blog was truly a fun experience and definitely something I could see being brought into a high school classroom. When trying to pick my favorites, I would say they were:

1. Professionalism

I am choosing my third blog post, which is where I discussed my experiences as a writer as well as my thoughts on AI. I do think that I showed a good amount of professionalism without losing my own voice throughout this post. I also want to mention that my point has not really changed since this post, but it is interesting to view my old thinking and compare it to mine now. I'm sure years from now, my thinking may change over and over again when it comes to AI, which is the crazy thing about a topic as big as that.

2. Multimodal Design

I am choosing my seventh blog post, which was the one where we shared our multimodal assignment. I think this truly showed how I can use multimodal elements in order to bring my point across for others to see!

3. Creativity

I am choosing my second blog post, which was the one where we created a literacy collage for our young writers. I think that this post sparked the most creativity within me and gave me a chance to show my young writers who I truly am as a teacher and a reader!

4. Civic Engagement

I am choosing my sixth blog post, which is the post where we made a book talk on the three books we chose to read for our civi topic. I chose this specifically because the topic I chose (LGBTQ+ issues) matter so much to me and make me think a lot about what is going on in today's world. The books I read put me in perspectives I have never seen, and I enjoyed being able to pick a topic I am interested in!

If I have to choose just one, it has to be Antonis and his blog posts. He used such a unique yet fun voice throughout his posts that I loved to read! It was awesome to see the progression and how much fun he seemed to have with it!

Overall, blogging has been an interesting experience. I think my favorite part of all of this was seeing everyone else's blogs and how much creativity they brought to the table. I shouldn't be surprised, we are all teacher/aspiring to be, so it makes sense that creativity is not something we lack!

  1. I agree with what you said about professionalism! It can be hard to stay professional without sounding fake or losing your voice, but you definitely were able to keep that balance. That’s something I think is actually really important, especially if we’re going to be teaching writing someday. What you said about AI also stood out to me! Even if your opinion hasn’t really changed, I think it’s interesting that you’re already aware that it probably will over time. AI is one of those topics where it feels like no one really has a final answer, so being open to that change is great! Awesome blog posts over the semester! And I really enjoyed having you in class!

  2. Hi Brianna! It has been great stopping by your blog to visit and read your thoughts this semester! I especially enjoyed your work in blog post 6, as well, and I think you did an excellent job composing a book talk that effectively discussed the themes of LGBTQ+ identity development and some of the frustrations for young protagonists that are faced surrounding those issues. I hope you continue to find spaces to explore the breadth of professional, playful, and creative tones and how they overlap, be it in online blogging or elsewhere!
